Barnhart, Inc. provided construction management at risk services to construct the $25 million state-of-the-art structural steel facility that provides educational opportunities for 5,000 nearby residents. The facility houses a number of signature programs, including the Police Academy, Environmental Technology, Nursing, Fire Science Technology, and Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician.
Additionally, the center offers courses in general education and transfer studies, as well as community and business interest classes. It also provides student support services such as counseling, tutoring, financial aid and career transfer center in addition to a conference center, computer labs, fitness center and administrative offices. The 68,000-square-foot-campus includes five buildings with design services provided by Martinez + Cutri Architects.
The project was funded from Proposition AA, an $89 million bond approved by local voters in 2000.
