Responsibilities
- Communicate and collaborate with customers, vendors, and colleagues to optimize operations
- Review and analyze scope(s) of work and define solution(s) to meet the request
- Work with vendors, partners, & agents to collect costs required to meet scope(s) of work
- Prepare & present quotes for RFP/RFQ’s that meet specified requirements of the request
- Book, coordinate, and manage shipments from start to finish, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery – all while ensuring constant communication with stakeholders
- Liaise with partners (carriers, agents, warehouses, etc.) to ensure all requirements are known and that shipment maintains operational integrity and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, including customs requirements and Incoterms
- Review/Prepare/Verify export/import documentation required for international compliance (e.g., commercial invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin)
- Proactively address and communicate all issues, concerns, delays, or other variables that may come about & provide alternative solutions where needed
- Track and trace shipments, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders
- Seek continuous improvement through analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, SCM/Logistics, Business, or related field preferred. Industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international freight forwarding operations required
- Strong understanding of Air/Ocean global operations, global documentation, and shipping processes
- Extremely strong verbal/phone skills and ability to communicate professionally required
- Ability to multi-task, think critically, and think outside the box required
- Passion to move cargo and service customers
- Ability to communicate via phone/email during non-business hours to meet needs of global time zones required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal communication skills (phone conversations with stakeholders is a requirement)
- Strong written communication skills
- Organized, analytical, & detail-oriented mindset required
