As an Independent Freight Agent, you will play a crucial role in our logistics and supply chain operations. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the movement of goods by coordinating transportation, negotiating rates with carriers, and ensuring timely delivery. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity that allows you to run your own freight brokerage business while leveraging our resources and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Management:
• Coordinate the transportation of goods, ensuring efficient and timely delivery
• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions
• Manage the end-to-end logistics process, from booking shipments to tracking and tracing
Customer Relations:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and customers
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, providing excellent customer service
Business Development:
• Prospect and acquire new clients to expand the customer base
• Identify business opportunities and develop strategies to increase revenue and market share
Documentation and Compliance:
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation for shipments, including bills of lading and customs documentation
• Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements
Technology Utilization:
• Utilize freight management software and technology tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in logistics technology
Financial Management:
• Manage financial aspects of the freight brokerage business, including invoicing, billing, and financial reporting

Qualifications:
• Established book of business as a freight agent
• Proven experience as a Freight Agent or in a similar logistics role
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry trends
• Familiarity with freight management software and technology
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Sales and business development experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in freight brokerage or logistics is highly desirable.
