Barnhart Logistics is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join the team!
Responsibilities as a Logistics Specialist - Level 1:
- Secure freight of all kinds and all equipment types for direct customers
- Build and maintain customer and carrier business relationships to improve transportation efficiencies for them
- Quote, bid, and negotiate rates with customers and freight carriers
- Schedule and track shipments from start to finish and report back to the customer
- Contribute to and be involved in team and individual goals
- Data entry and basic math
- Some after hours/weekend work
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience in Logistics/Supply Chain not required; training provided
- Prior experience in the transportation industry preferred but not required
- Prior experience in a fast-paced office environment preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and follow-through
- Strong communication, negotiating
- General computer knowledge a must
- Attention to detail and multi-tasking a must
- Works well in a team environment

Working Conditions:
Normal office setting. Requires use of a computer, reading, typing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting 5 to 35 lbs.
